Our Nursing Care: Philosopy of Care

Wardington House, founded in 1965, has an outstanding reputation for caring for the elderly mentally infirm, particularly those suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Over the years we have learnt how to meet the special needs of this group of people. We use no routine tranquillising or sedative drugs. We offer a relaxed, stress free environment, so that residents can retain their freedom of choice and individuality. They are invited to get up and go to bed at times of their own choosing and to eat between meals if their wish. The way of life at Wardington House and the absence of tranquillising drugs have produced surprising improvements to the health, happiness and well being of many who have come here.

Care is provided by our team of dedicated and experienced nurses and care assistants who work under the direction of our matron. They have been chosen for their caring skills and are thoughtful, calm and kind. Their expertise and experience enable us, with rare exceptions, to continue to care for the people who come here, no matter what the future may hold for them.
