A Review From a Resident’s Son...
“All the residents at Wardington House have dementia and that makes for a very special environment; residents are free to come and go around the large house and grounds.
It is a very peaceful, kind, open and happy place. The staff are local people, friendly, diligent and very professional. The nursing care is absolutely exemplary.
My family could not be happier with the home, which will be my mother’s last. Her GP told me, memorably: ‘In all my years as a GP, I have never set foot in a better-run nursing home’.
I don’t have those comparators, but I reckon that’s right.”
Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us,
we’re always here to help.
How do I know if Wardington House is right for my loved one?
Before a resident is admitted to the home the family will have visited Wardington House and had a full discussion about the prospective residents care.
Our Matron then visits the prospective resident in their own home, no matter where they live in the country, to assess their needs and learn more about their family and life. Families’ contributions to the care planning process are important and we encourage families to write short biographies so that our staff can engage with residents on subjects that are dear to them.
What activities and daily routines do you offer?
We help each resident to live each day as they choose, surrounded by familiar faces and opportunities to engage, relax and simply be themselves.
Our daily approach is rooted in freedom, respect and individuality. Residents can decide how they spend their day — whether that’s joining in with group activities, spending quiet time alone, enjoying the garden or having a chat with another resident or one of our team.
Our activities team offer a range of meaningful experiences, from music, theatre, trips out in our minibus, or a drink at our local pub or garden center.
How can family members visit and stay involved?
We welcome families and visitors at any time convenient to the person they are visiting. We have hosted special birthday parties and a wedding ceremony.
We also share regular updates, photos and invite families to events, so you stay close even when you’re not here.
