Comfortable, personalised rooms

No two rooms are the same at Wardington House

Our rooms are more than just accommodation — they’re private, familiar spaces where residents can feel safe, settled and at ease.

Whether someone prefers peace and quiet or enjoys the company of a roommate, we offer flexible options to suit individual needs and preferences.

Bedrooms: spacious and personalised

All bedrooms are light and airy, with low windows and most have views over the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside. Every room can be personalised — we encourage families to bring the resident’s own furniture, pictures and belongings to help make the resident’s bedroom feel truly theirs.

Each room at Wardington House has its own character. Some are as large as twenty five square metres with their own assisted bathrooms. They suit someone who wants to bring their favorite pieces of furniture. Smaller rooms suit people with limited mobility who can easily walk around the room.

Residents can hang pictures on their bedroom walls and bring their own rugs if they wish. We have developed special bedroom door locks that stop other people entering another resident’s room. If needed we use technology that will alert us if a resident leaves their bed or room at night.

With our agreement, some residents have brought their own pets.

A home that supports independence

Residents at Wardington House are not confined to a single floor. They are free to go anywhere they want in the house and its gardens. The doors to the house are open all the time, unless it is dark, raining or very windy, allowing residents to move freely around the house and the gardens.

The facilities include:

  • Three spacious sitting rooms to choose from, each with its own character
  • A conservatory and verandas for quiet relaxation and garden views
  • Wide, accessible corridors and a lift to all floors
  • Multiple points of access to the gardens, designed for safe and easy walking.

This open, spacious environment plays a key role in supporting our approach to the care of our residents with dementia.  Freedom of choice and movement enables residents to enjoy their lives, stay mobile for as long as possible whilst feeling comfortable and content.

Making the their room their own

Moving home is a big step. That’s why we do everything we can to make the change as comfortable as we can.

We encourage families to bring a favourite bit of furniture, family photos, hang pictures on the walls and personalise their room from day one. It’s all part of helping people feel comfortable, confident and at home.
